Illustration Friday: Midsummer Night


I painted "midsummer night" by drawing the beach at night. Everything except the sky was made of acrylic paint. The sky was made of watercolor. The ocean looks black in this picture, but it is actually dark blue.

    I dont know if it is the light but it looks like there isnt a lot of detail in the ocean but the tree was a nice touch. I think a little more detail could go a long way.

    I agree with William, a little more detail could make this picture a lot more enjoyable to look at, but other then that good job.

    I disagree with the Williams, I think its simplicity if what makes it seem like calm, summer night on the beach. But I do think a consistency of paints would help the image to flow together. Otherwise, it looks lovely!

    I agree with BLaire, midsummer night should be calm and the simplicity portrays calm, good work
